So right...the people are to blame. My neighbor said that Bush "disappointed her". She (and many others) have no right to be disappointed. More than enough info was available for her to predict what kind of a president he would make. Ditto the war in Iraq. But Americans are too busy with their sports (and with running their children from here to there after school) to find that info. Those children will inherit the mess their parents' negligence produced.
IMO, the citizen's first duty is not to fight for their country, nor to vote, nor to pay taxes. The first and foremost duty in a democracy is to stay informed on issues.

As much as I despise the oligarchy for using mass media as a propaganda tool (I hope they all rot in hell), the public is also to blame. Alternate information is out there if anyone would bother to check. And this is on virtually any topic, not just politics. What is truly sad is that most people know they are not getting the entire truth, but they just can't seem to tear themselves away from Dancing With the Stars to care. This is worse than that horrible scene in the Posiden Adventure where some are going the wrong way and can't be convinced they are really going to the bottom of the ship. These fools aren't even going the wrong way, they are just sitting there feigning bliss! People, everything is NOT o.k!!!!!!!!!Wake up and smell the decay of democracy before its too late!!!
