STAND UP FOR THE DREAM

On April 4, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was assassinated in Memphis, where he stood with sanitation workers demanding the fundamental right to bargain collectively and pursue their dream of a better life.

Today that same dream is electrifying people all across America –Working people, students, faith leaders, black, white, Latino and Asian Americans.

On April 4, 2011, we will stand together with working people in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and other states where politicians backed by corporate CEOs are trying to take away their rights for which Dr. King gave his life.

WHO IS PULLING THE STRINGS WHEN POLITICIANS ATTACK WORKERS AND THE MIDDLE CLASS?

Charles and David Koch—Multibillionaires of Koch Industries, based in Wichita, Kan., an oil and consumer products conglomerate.

They founded Americans for Prosperity, which has an anti-worker, anti-environmental regulation, and pro-tobacco industry agenda. In 2010, the Koch brothers’ net worth increased by billions while their company cut hundreds of jobs around the country.

Koch recent political donations: $43,000 to Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign; $1 million to Republican Governors Association, which spent $131 million supporting Republican governors now attempting to restrict workers’ rights; and $1 million to Americans for Prosperity, which spent $40 million supporting anti-worker candidates.

Join us in telling the Koch Brothers to start creating new jobs and stop destroying the middle class!
