I am a 28 year veteran teacher in CA. I DO pay health care and retirement benefits. I pay $448 a month for my healthcare plan and $600 a mth for STRS (retirement) and have always paid for these benefits. I am fortunate in that I work for a district with supportive parents and a supportive community. As a result, our students do well academically. Although I have been a republican all my life, I do not agree with their "teacher bashing". It is too bad that all the information is not accurate. We do pay into insurance plans as well as our STRS plans and always ave done so. In addition, we are not overpaid or lazy, we love what we do, and we love "our kids". I am so tired of the politics. Please remember, many times teachers do sped their money to take classes ($3,000 last year for me) and supplies for their kids. We do care and love our students.

Dear Anonymous: I think you are right to raise the question of how much in corporate income taxes Koch pays in Wisconsin and nationally. That information is closely guarded by the company but I believe the public has a right to know. Just as it should know how much the other companies, including the big banks, in this state are paying in income taxes here, across the country and nationally. On the no-bid sale and employment ads for power plant managers, I just wanted you to know as I noted in my report Koch Denies Interest in No-Bid Deals; Opens New Lobby Shop that it there are some indications that the ads you reference are from Alliant, not Koch. The Koch company denies any interest in the power plants. It remains to be seen what they were planning to lobby on and will be lobbying on with the new lobby team during Walker's time in office. Thank you for writing in!

I'd call it the Billionaire Super Deluxe Happy Ending Platinum. The fact that you see this as conservative versus liberal instead of corrupt power versus honesty shows just how well divide-and-rule has worked for people like the Koch Brothers.
