Palin Now Supportive of Health Care Reform [1]

After months of repeating lies [3] about "death panels" in the health reform bill, and just days after giving an interview [4] on Fox News [5] in which she called the health care reform measure "nonsensical" and a "comprehensive takeover of the health care system" that is "not supported by the public," Sarah Palin [6] has changed her tune. Citing her son Trig, who has Down Syndrome [7], Palin told an audience in Waco, Texas that now she thinks health care reform deserves a chance to succeed. Palin said, "I've always said that kids with special needs deserve special help. And if the recent health care legislation can help kids like Trig, it deserves a chance." Some Tea Party [8] members accused Palin of "flip-flopping" on health care reform. Others believe she is making an effort to expand her base and appear more moderate in preparation for a presidential run in 2012. Polls have shown overwhelming support for protecting children with pre-existing conditions from discrimination by health insurers. **April Fool**
