Renewables Defeat Fossils in Colorado [1]
Submitted by Anonymous on
While voters in Colorado backed George W. Bush [2] for president, a ballot initiative requiring the state's power utilities to source 3% of their electricity from renewable energy resources by 2007 and 10% by 2015 was successful. Despite opposition from Citizens for Sensible Energy Choices [3], the utilities front group [4], the proposition gained over 52% of the vote. Citizens for Sensible Energy Choices hired Denver-based marketing and PR company Walt Klein & Associates [5] and the Texas-based opinion polling company Hill Research Consultants [6] to assist with the campaign.
