FAS Project on Government Secrecy [1]
Submitted by Sheldon Rampton [2] on
The Federation of American Scientists sponsors this project, which works to challenge excessive government secrecy and to promote public oversight. They also publish an email newsletter, the Secrecy News [3], which provides informal coverage of new developments in secrecy, security and intelligence policies. Recent issues have focused on the recently-defeated "anti-leak" law [4] (informally dubbed the "Official Secrets Act") that would have made even journalists liable for inciting a felony if they obtain classified information from anyone who is not officially authorized to disclose it.
