UK Tabloid Editor Sacked Over Fake Photos [1]

Piers Morgan has been fired as editor of the Daily Mirror, and the British tabloid devoted its entire front page to an apology [3] for publishing what turned out to be fake photos of British soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners. In the U.S., the Boston Globe has apologized after printing a photograph in which images could be seen from a pornographic website that celebrated fake rapes of Iraqi women [4]. (Unfortunately, the photos of abuse by U.S. soldiers at Abu Ghraib [5] are all too real, and there are hundreds more that the public hasn't seen yet [6].)
