Moving jobs overseas has gotten a bad rap, according to PR Week: "The fact that offshoring is a complex matter... doesn't mean the media has treated it with a sober approach. The body of accurate reporting on the often intricate economic motivations for moving jobs abroad is dwarfed by the more emotional, even sensational, reporting on the effects of offshoring on American workers." Companies offshoring jobs "should follow a crisis management model" and "be open, but not to the point that they just throw everything out to the media." It's a good thing that industry front groups [3] like the Coalition for Economic Growth and American Jobs, the International Free Trade Association and the Organization for International Investment [4] have formed to "defend the outsourcing of jobs [5]."
