All of the Alec bills like the plastic bag ban are about taking away local control, and silencing the voice of the people. That's their aim so that big business will eventually govern our country. They want an Oligarchy; government by the few, not a democracy as we now have. The problem is that Republicans appear to be too dumb to see what's really happening.
