Direct democracy, enhanced by modern electronics is the inevitable wave of the future. It is a promising development that has long provided good government to the Swiss, Scandinavians and now to emerging Latin American democracies. But soon everyone will have equal ability to propose laws and have them voted up or down, not only every four years, but as an ongoing direct democratic process that can keep up with accelerating change.
