Renewables Defeat Fossils in Colorado

Source: RenewableEnergyAccess.com While voters in Colorado backed George W. Bush for president, a ballot initiative requiring the state's power utilities to source 3% of their electricity from renewable energy resources by 2007 and 10% by 2015 was successful. Despite opposition from Citizens for Sensible Energy Choices, the utilities front group, the proposition gained over 52% of the vote. Citizens for Sensible Energy Choices hired Denver-based marketing and PR company Walt Klein & Associates and the Texas-based opinion polling company Hill Research Consultants to assist with the campaign.
